FCC disputes long-standing view that the shows are exempt from equal-time rule.
When a station gives time to one political candidate, it must provide comparable time and placement to an opposing candidate if an opposing candidate makes a request… The rule has an exemption for candidate appearances on bona fide news programs.
So what you’re saying is, no more appearances by politicians on late night broadcast talk shows. Problem solved. There aren’t that many anyway. The last one i can remember is Bill Clinton playing the sax on Arsenio Hall.
I’m fairly certain Obama went on at least one late night show. After a quick search looks like he was on David Letterman 3 times during his presidency https://www.cbsnews.com/media/best-president-obama-interviews-david-letterman/
As long as it’s imposed upon the likes of Faux Newz as well, I have no problem with this.
You’ll be shocked to see that’s not what they’re going to do.
I’ll assume you mean “shocked” (actually in quotes), because… well, if you don’t get that then there’s no point explaining.
Love the idea of Fox News being forced to give time to gay altheist people of color
Hadn’t gone that far with it mentally, but now that you mention it… YES!!!
Lol
