That’s not too surprising considering it has an LiFePO4 battery. 500 cycles is nothing for those.

LiFePO4 battery is a no brainer for cars. Higher current, longer lifespan, and much lower chance of turning into a bomb in a crash.

A common argument I hear against using it in mobile electronics is the fact that it’s heavier. But, like, who cares? Are you struggling to lift your phone or laptop?

      • I carry my laptop around everywhere and light weight is really important to me (walking, biking). Not sure how much heavier these batteries really are but I already got a less powerful laptop so that it would be lighter…

Just one of the reasons removable batteries need to come back. Imagine if you could just choose between the lighter lithium ion and the more durable lithium iron phosphate for your use case.

Weight could be an issue with phones because people tend to use them for too long in bad positions lol, but for a laptop it seems like a no brainer too

My laptop is already like 2kg, with that again as a charger. If I get 3hrs of battery I’ll take an extra kilo as opposed to my current 90 minutes

The latest Lifepo4 batts that catl just got into production this past month or so are set to be way better than even this one here.
