First off, looks like a lot of new people joined the community, so welcome! Let me know if you need anything.
I wanted to get some early feedback on the new Explore (previously called communities) page.
Note: This comparison only really works if you’re viewing on web.
This is what the update looks like and this is what it previously looked like
Sorry if this is not the right place, not sure where else to ask about this.
I realized there are several communities that appear empty when I visit them on Blorp web. This community for example, !blorp@lemmy.zip, I had to come to piefed.social and then search for it so I could see the posts, otherwise on blorp it looks empty and says “Nothing to see here”. Not sure why or how to fix it.
What instance are you using with Blorp? Also piefed.social?
Yeah, piefed.social, sorry if I was’t clear. But I actually tried adding a second and third accounts from different lemmy instances and had the same result.
What’s your post sort set to? A screenshot of the empty feed might be helpful for more context.
Oh! That clue helped me. I think it was the Top 6 hours, didn’t realized it applied some kind of filter, I just thought it sorted the posts. A little unintuitive if I may say so (though I guess that’s on the fedi services and not on Blorp).
Thanks a lot! That solved my issue.
Yeah. I don’t control those sorts, that’s a Lemmy thing. But maybe I could add a message that says “try changing your sort to see content” or something.
This looks so good!
Much better! Much more readable.
I think it looks great. Looking forward to it!
Looks better!
I was going to complain about needing to horizontally scroll to see the full list, but the Show More button fully solves that issue. Great update.
Thanks! The goal was to let you quickly peek at the first couple items of a few featured sorts. Maybe you want to see a few trending communities alongside a few new communities without flipping back and forth. But you should still be able to dive into a specific category (sort) if you want.
I’m not necessarily attached to the current 3 featured categories. On Lemmy, I’m featuring TopAll, New, and Active. But I’d love to gather more feedback on the top 3 sorts people more care about.
Multi community feeds will also show up if you’re using PieFed or Lemmy V1 beta.
