Reminder that, according to book of Genesis, Adam and Eve were not exiled from the Garden of Eden for disobeying God.

Eating from the tree of Knowledge made them know good and evil like God. They were exiled to prevent them from also eating from the Tree of Life, which would have made them immortal and even more like God.

And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.

I prefer Hellenism, where the god who gave knowledge to humans is widely considered a hero and nobody likes the dude who tried to keep humans ignorant much anymore

I had this thought when i was like 9 and couldn’t understand why people thought it was a bad thing. Those people today are still arrogant assholes and if Jesus was here he would definitely call them evil, then theyd throw him in a work camp.
