Hello, I’ve been trying for a while to find peanut butter in larger quantities (> 500g). Doesn’t seem to be too common sadly. Any advice on this? I’m in Würzburg btw.

I regularly buy 500g jars of peanut butter at go asia. There seems to be one in Würzburg as well. But maybe other Asian supermarkets also have them?

I haven’t noticed any larger quantities at supermarkets, but I think I have seen a 1kg bucket at work once, so someone has to be selling them …

Restaurant suppliers, like Metro, do sell those, but iirc you can’t shop there unless you own a business, due to tax reasons.

Again supermarkets may sell paste instead of butter so you should be wary while getting peanutbutter there.

There is a difference between those? I assumed that peanut puree, peanut creme, peanut paste, all refer to the same thing: peanut butter; but they cannot call it like that because it’s NoT a DaIrY pRoDuCt.

Pegnitz Butter is not part of that thing. Peanutbutter is not 100% peanuts but also contains fats. My jar (JEFF’S, Crunchy from REWE, a german supermarket/discounter) is 91% peanuts, Sugar, hardened oil (rape) and salt. I believe paste is 100% peanuts.

Often in Germany, the 100% pure peanuts (where the oil separates from the nuts if you dont stir it regularly) is named “Erdnussmus”.
