I gave that printed barrel a shot — the one that requires a liner — but honestly, I’d rather just pick up a solid dedicated barrel instead. Not looking to spend several hundred dollars on one, because at that price point I’d just go ahead and grab a BCA AR-22 upper. The goal is to build something with more printed components than factory ones. I’ve already got a printed receiver, a printed lower, and the CMMG with the bolt carrier’s “camber” feature, so any barrel recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Proto barrels are the best overall option if you’re using a printed upper. Especially if you already have a chambered barrel liner cause that’s usually the most expensive part of the proto barrel assembly. It’s super easy to build hardest part is cutting.cut by hand with hacksaw just wrap tape around your cut line too help keep the carbon strands aligned and let the weight of your arm provide pressure.

Davidson defense has cheap dedicated AR22 barrels. I’ve not had any issues with them. Right to Bear always has great sales as well. You’ll be happier with the dedicated and the better accuracy that comes with those over a conversion barrel setup.

Not 100% sure I understand the question. Are you just looking for a source for cheap .223 AR15 barrels? If so ar15discounts.com or any of a dozen other retailers have plenty to choose from. Just go with whatever is cheapest because with a chamber adapter and 223 barrel accuracy is going to suck no matter what.
