American data analytics company LexisNexis Legal & Professional has confirmed to BleepingComputer that hackers breached its servers and accessed some customer and business information.
For 70% of the companies out there, If your company or website collects it; hackers will get it. Your PR ‘trust us’ words have no meaning or substance.
They have their hands in a lot of industries. Data brokers are one of the worst corporations out there.
I’vr worked on systems connected to LexisNexis before. They have a LOT of personal data on a LOT of people. They do things like track all marriages and name changes so that their clients can follow someone for life. And that’s just one small offering, LexisNexis is a large corp. Them getting hacked could be very bad. Hopefully by “accessed some business” information they don’t mean “stole the identities of everyone in the database”.
Please “hacked” check out where there customer service is located. It took time but realized that 90% of American corporation off shore our customer service to countries where we pay these people 2 dollars a day, and they have full access to all our personal information. Bet a million that a lot of these hacks, are just these reps selling our information.
