Duloxetine works great for me until I sleep, then I wake back up into the pit of despair and I feel like I’m supposed to wait until ~24 hours since I last took it in order to take it again. I can’t find any cases of other people reporting this and it’s not something my medical professionals have heard of. It makes it hard if I don’t have energy due to not getting enough sleep the night before so I take a nap, and then when I wake up I still don’t have energy due to lack of willpower. I’ve also found it harder to get out of bed in the morning shortly before taking the medicine.

How bizarre! Usually when I’m having a bad night, sleep helps me because the thoughts quiet down. I’ve been on a low dose of Seroquel. Bad thoughts can get to me at night but I seem to just fall asleep on the med which makes them go away and stay quiet into the next morning!

I actually take my antidepressants right before I go to bed, and they seem to last the next day.

I do get really upsetti if I stay up later than usual, and am generally lower in mood at night. But that could be a number of things.

Seems common enough to have a lower mood at night. Idk why really but I’ve always been the same.

If you need Duloxetine in order to sleep, then I don’t know… Otherwise, I do this: I take Sertraline in the morning when I wake up and it last the whole day. Then, when I need to sleep - and if I’m unable to sleep because kdw anxiety - I take Zoplicone, which knocks me out. It’s not an antidepressant nor is it ani anxiety medicine, it just induces sleep.
