    There’s a famous Reagan joke:

"Two men, an American and a Russian were arguing. One said, in my country I can go to the white house walk to the president’s office and pound the desk and say “Mr president! I don’t like how you’re running things in this country!” The Russian said “I can do that too!”

    “Really?”

“Yes! I can go to the Kremlin, walk into the general secretary’s office and pound the desk and say, Mr. secretary, I don’t like how Reagan is running his country!”

This lemmitor did the joke completely unironically with Germany’s “free press” being able to attack Germany’s opponents.

There’s also that joke where the Soviet Russian commends the westerner for being superior at propaganda, and the westerner says “But we don’t have any propaganda?”

A CIA agent and a KGB agent are having a drink together, the CIA agent says, ‘Soviet propaganda is so blatant and obvious, I don’t know how it works for you guys.’

The KGB agent says, ‘You’re right, we’re looking to make new propaganda that’s more subtle. Like your American propaganda.’

The CIA agent says, ‘What propaganda?’

By far the biggest challenge for Germans will be to understand that in order to decouple from the USA, it is not enough to simply stop buying their stuff. You have to stop unconditionally believing what American persons and institutions claim, and this especially applies to claims of the past.

Because how can you be truly free from your old master when they can still control your thoughts through past lies? But Germans, by and large, aren’t even cognizant of the origin of their beliefs. They hold their assertions true to their hearts like immutable laws of nature, imprinted on them since childhood. To them, these claims about China, about North Korea, about Iran and Russia, might as well be the word of god. Unshakeable axioms.

And as long as this remains the case, they will never truly be free.

I have yet to see the free press here report about Germany currently being accused of facilitating genocide at the Court of International Justice. Downplaying Germany’s transgressions strongly smacks of German propaganda.

One side of the mouth has the cables twisted slightly upwards into a joker grin and the colour scheme is shifted slightly to be akin to the joker. I don’t have the skills to do it and I don’t want to make AI slop, but that’s how I would do it.

The saxon prince elector of the 30 years war was mostly famous for drinking himself into unsciousness in a badly-lit cavernous hall while a brass band was playing the stuff Germans mistake for music. He was nicknamed Beer John (Bierjörg). His father was John Sausage (Hanswurst). He was considered the rule, rather than the exception.

It is safe to say that Germans have only gotten worse since than.
