I’ve set up a new community (!giveaways@piefed.ca) but I’m seeing almost no activity - I know this is normal to a degree, but to receive only one reply on three posts offering free stuff feels weird. I also saw another user complaining about federation from piefed.ca, and when trying to share the community with Lemmy Federate as recommended on the sidebar, I just got an error. Have I done something wrong, is it an instance issue, or is it just coincidence and regular low traffic?

Also, I’d love to get other feedback if anyone has time.

Lemmy-federate had issues recently, maybe try again now?

Unfortunately no luck. It looks like Lemmy-federate doesn’t play well with piefed.ca, since all other communities listed there just say, “waiting to be processed.”

possibly…? when i went to the community directly, it only showed me 1 post & 15 subscribers; then after going to it via your post history, it suddenly showed 3 posts & 21 subscribers.

It’s visible on sopuli.xyz; thanks for the giveaways!

Was going to give someone else a chance to win it since I’ve won a few things in the past on Lemmy, but if I there’s still no comments by tomorrow, I’ll make a post for the Sid Meier’s one.

I saw the fedigrow post and subscribed to the community. That should help it federate a bit.

Wasn’t seeing it here on reddthat yet until I tried loading it manually, so I’m guessing the bot that automatically subscribes to new communities failed.
