I took my old gaming rig and set it up in the living room. Hooked it straight to the TV, got a wireless keyboard and 4 controllers. Couch gaming, emulators, streaming, whatever the hell I want.
Oh that’s not a bad idea. I just upgraded my desktop, and was thinking of turning the remains into a media server, but media server plus emulation station sounds much better.
Consoles are better is you have a bunch of friends over and you want to pass the controllers around on the couch in the living room.
PC is better for the battlestation in your room.

I’m thinking of getting an Nvidia shield for streaming and emulating since I don’t have spare parts.
before spending the money know what you want to emulate because the shield has its limitations.
I use a Steam Link myself, works pretty well.
I just bought a budget micro PC to do the same. I just want to play some retro games on the living room TV so the performance is good enough.
