    First off, fuck the Wall Street Journal. Second, there is very clearly a medium between making drugs completely illegal and allowing people to use openly on the street and sprawl out on the sidewalk high out of their minds with no consequences. If someone is using in public like that, whether or not they’re housed, there should be a legal mechanism to mandate them into detox and/or treatment

      Or funding for outreach at the bare minimum. Safe injection sites are a great idea too
