Last I saw he was projecting late 2024, if I remember right.

This is my answer to the topic question too. I read books 1 and 2 as they came out and I’d need to re-read everything from start to finish to properly get back into the series. I’ve been waiting for the release of book 5 to be close before I start that re-read. Assuming no further delays, I can start next summer.

Sanderson’s website says he is 56% done. So I guess it depends on when and how much time he has to finish it.

Waiting for the audiobook as well. Might need to reread or find a summary, I don’t recall a lot of the previous books.

Ooh, there’s an idea. I’m currently rereading Cradle before reading the final few books. Rereading Dungeon Crawler Carl could be pretty good too.

Cassiel’s Servant, by Jacqueline Carey. It’s Kushiel’s Dart, as told from Joscelin’s pov. Out in August.

It got delayed, because the author lost her parents and covid hit and such things did a number on her life. I saw a recent author photo, and she lost one hell of a lot of weight, in a bad way.

I read Forge of Darkness and couldn’t cope knowing all three books weren’t out yet so I won’t be reading Fall of Light until Walk in Shadow is done and dusted. Though I’ll probably have to reread Forge first tbh, it’s been a while.

Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree

Next books in The Weirkey Chronicles by Sarah Lin and Manifestation by Samuel Hinton. And hopefully the second book in The Last Horizon series by Will Wight will release by the end of this year too.

Murtagh, by Christopher Paolini the next book in the world of Alagaësia. A world I really enjoy to read in. So more books and seeing more of that world is something I always am happy about.

I just picked up The Traitor by Anthony Ryan (release the other day). So far I really like the Covenant of Steel series. So I can’t wait for the next installment after this.

Also the next Dresden book is always on my must have list.

Book 18 is due next year. I’m up to 17 but not rushing to start it. 16 was a bit of a drag.

Book 17 ‘Battle Ground’ is way better than the previous. But I am hoping for a stellar ending. We have got to read along as Dresden struggled to adapt and grow and he is finally one of the most badass Wizards on the planet if not the most badass Wizard. The end is near and I hope it’s good. I suspect Butcher will wrap it all up with a nice little happy ending because a lot of fans would be upset if he GoT Dresden in the end.

I think it’s the 18th full novel release pending at this time but Butcher has said the end is near.

The sequel to Empire of the Vampire is coming out next year, I think. Very much enjoyed the first one.

Looking forward to Alecto the Ninth’s release. Loved Gideon when it came out, and have purchased Harrow and Nina, but decided to wait until the final book was out to finish reading the whole series.

Not much is exciting me being released this year tbh. I’ll be interested to see what people bring up in here.

I tried to read The Captain by Will Wight and bounced off that one hard. Turns out Will Wight is not for me. Brandon Sanderson isn’t my jam either so no hype there for his “secret projects” being released.

I’ll be reading the Legends and Latte’s prequel but I’m only doing that to check off the 2023 square on my book bingo (I’d be more excited if it wasn’t a prequel).

Well let’s see. I just finished Red Sister by Mark Lawrence and overall I really liked it, I’ll keep going with the series, but probably not right away. It was solid but the pacing was a little off in a way that wore me down as the book went on.

Justice of Kings by Richard Swan was real good. Kinda Sherlock Holmes meets Judge Dredd meets Witchfinder General vibe going on. Very cool.

Witness for the Dead by Katherine Addison was quite nice, though never really peaked for me, it just kind of unfurled pleasantly then ended too abruptly. Still, good for an easy, cozy read.

Also The City We Became by NK Jemesin was weird and fun but again meandered a bit in the middle until it was pretty much finished.

        How about you?
