Hello friends. I am new to the mechanical keyboard world. I purchased my first, a Keychron K5 Pro. I love it. Feels great, works great, sounds great. I would like to replace a handful of the keycaps however, trying to just customize a bit.

So my issue: I can’t figure out what to buy. The K5 came with “Low-profile Double-shot PBT Keycaps”. They measure about 4mm in height (just the keycaps). I’m looking for a handful of 1U caps, either in some fun colors or with random art printed on them. I am not opposed to getting a full set of keys if they are priced right.

From what I am reading in random places, XDA or DSA profile caps are CLOSE to what I have in size and shape. Can anyone guide me here? Maybe suggest a specific seller or a better search term than “Low Profile PBT Keycaps”? I seem to be finding a lot in other profiles (I get it, I purchased a kind of specific keyboard type), but not a ton of caps that seem to be correct for me.

Please help! Thanks in advance homies.

I don’t have much advice on finding the caps, or what will fit on it, but the profile that Keychron sells on their low profile boards is LSA (and appears to be their own profile). Using the profile name should give you a bit better search results, but it looks like there isn’t much out there that will fit those low profile switches.

Yeah that’s the thing, search results seem to end up just melting into every key cap ever after a couple of pages. I get that’s the nature of searching for something I want to purchase but hot damn is it annoying.

God damn it I hate the modern reality of online shopping. Make searching actually worth a damn again ffs

The irony is that it has the opposite effect than intended on me. The less relevant results I seem to find to my search the more I think: Is it worth my time? Do I really need X? And in the end I turn away and buy nothing.
