Dear MicroG

I have installed LOS4MG (18.1) on my S4.

I followed the LOS instructions here. https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/jfltexx/install

And the microG page here. https://lineage.microg.org/

Thus far everything seems good.

I clicked on F-Droid and downloaded the Aurora Store app onto my S4.

I note that this Aurora Store is v 4.2.3 but GitLab seems to indicate that v 4.2.5 has been released. https://gitlab.com/AuroraOSS/AuroraStore/-/releases

v 4.2.5 does not seem to be available on F-Droid.

Since downloading Aurora Store v 4.2.3 several days ago I have tried about a dozen times on different days to use it to install the Firefox app on my S4 without success.

I can’t get the Aurora Store app to work.

I would be grateful for any help you could give me.

Yours sincerely ROMMMELLL

I ran into simmilar issues with aurora a while ago. From my understanding this is not related to LOS or MicroG. It’s just Google blocking the anonymous accounts used by Aurora. What others suggested and I successfully implemented is creating a dummy google account with no personal info, and use it to with Aurora.

A few notes on this. If they ask for a phone number for verification use some online service and immediately add fallback options for login (like an authenticator app - i recommend Aegis). My account got blocked after a few day, but i successfully recovered it aferwardas. Can be a bit of a hassle to setup, but it’s been working without issues since then.

4.2.5 is available for me on LOS20. Are you sure you refreshed your repos? Just pull down in fdroid app.

Not a fix, but a workaround: use Fennec. Its Firefox with the telemetry parts removed.

      Dear K

Thankyou for the recommendation of Fennec.

I am finding this very useful.

      Yours sincerely ROMMMELLL

        Dear K

        I have a question about a non-LOS matter.

I hesitate to ask, but you’re the smartest person I know.

Could you, maybe, point me in the right direction ?
