Hello everyone,

https://eslemmy.es/ was my go-to instance to try to practice my Spanish, but it has been down for a while.

https://feddit.cl/ is quite active, but I was looking for an alternative that might be EU-based (I sometimes share some articles about EU news, and I guess that’s not that interesting to people in Chile). I’m almost a bit jealous of how good feddit.de and feddit.nl are doing, compared to the other non-English European languages.

I have been reverting to https://www.meneame.net/, but I would like to have a Lemmy/Kbin Spanish space.

I had a look on https://lemmy.fediverse.observer/list and filtered by language, but didn’t find anyone.

On Mastodon, there is https://masto.es/, maybe I should also post there.

I have a Masto.es account for practicing Spanish, but activity and engagement seems low when I check-in. That could be my own social circle there, though.

I’m opening an account there, let’s see how it goes. I might look for open source / free software groups in Spain, there should be something.

I could recommend mujico.org with a warning: we are a mixed group comprising Mexicans, Mexican-Americans, and individuals from other Latin American countries. Our sense of humor differs significantly from Anglo culture, and we don’t appreciate filters when it comes to comedy. If you are very politically correct, you may be shocked quickly

Lemmy-wise admittedly none comes to mind at the moment. In fact this is the first time I hear of meneame, which is good to know so thanks!

Mastodon-wise there’s Chilemasto, Masto.es and Lile, admittedly haven’t paid attention to instance names to find others.
