    From their FAQ, emphasis mine:

    You shouldn’t get one if…

You need a perfectly polished smartwatch. This project is a labour of love rather than a startup trying to sell millions of watches. There may be some rough edges (literally). Things will get delayed. Some features will not be ready at launch. Things could break. Things could not last as long as you’d like. The only thing we can guarantee is that it will be awesome and a lot of fun! Every time you look down at your watch, you will smile

So yeah, I’d say your take is pretty accurate. At least they’re honest lol

Unearthing so many memories of clutching my gameboy in the back seat and dozing off with it. That feeling of being powerless and adrift, yet in motion nonetheless and holding on to whatever little thing it is that I know and understand and love.

There was a period of time when I would have saved this particular xbox model from a fire, and been left with nothing else. Perhaps I too would have fallen asleep holding it, not knowing where I’d be when I woke up. Absolutely marvelous work as always, thank you

  • Well to be fair it also has a really nice cnc aluminum enclosure, high quality mechanical switches suitable for live performance, and is hand assembled by one guy.

And to be even more fair, he made the software available. So if you want to just buy the $35 controller and build your own enclosure for cheap then you can with no real restrictions, which is awesome.

Imo it’s a great price for a small batch boutique item; it’s cheaper than a lot of plasticky buggy grooveboxes being put out by major corporations. It’s very high on my list of things to pick up if I become suddenly wealthy lol

  • Well, thank you for taking the time to apologize and provide context

It’s awesome that you do so much to bring life into lemmy despite your medical situation. The situation at large here isn’t a reflection of you or your other contributions

A common thing seems to be people assuming I put zero creativity or effort in to coaxing out something

I read the rest of the comments here, and the post you linked to just now. The friction you’re running into with these posts isn’t related to you or your chronic illness or your posting history. Nobody is doing a background check on you before downvoting; most don’t even glance at your username

It’s just the nature of AI generated content. Nobody can tell what effort you may have invested in this type of post, you know? This is without even getting into the very long list of reasons why AI content is divisive in general. No matter what you and I discuss here, the situation will most likely repeat any time this type of content is posted away from one of the dedicated communities for it

  • Lifting weights!

Becoming stronger has such a powerful positive effect on people’s lives. One of the world’s strongest men right now, Mitchell Hooper, is a professional exercise physiologist. He teaches elderly patients how to deadlift, progressing them from whatever point they are capable of initially. Many patients can barely bend over to begin with, but little by little, the practice of resistance training restores their mobility, alleviates their pain, and improves their quality of life in countless other ways.

Literally their bones will get stronger, and their balance will improve, thus reducing the likelihood and severity of falls. Which is a huge killer as you get older.

What’s cool is that anyone at any age has a ton of benefits to reap. But I think everyone generally understands a 20 year old can go hard in the gym and get results. Far fewer people in their 40s, 60s, and even 80s consider getting started which is a shame because getting started at those ages can TRANSFORM your life

  • Typical rambling argument against random shit nobody said.

You are the one using your limited time to jump to the defense of society’s lowest, most pathetic losers. Look up this guy’s business, he’s a fucking scam artist. Worcester would be significantly better off if they drove him out of town over his dumbass car.

You, yes you personally, should direct that energy into defending trans people and immigrants whose lives are actually threatened by violence instead of wasting it on wealthy people who are merely made “uncomfortable” by people telling them to fuck off lmao. You know, since you are the one who claims to be so bothered by hate and everything.

Or just continue to hallucinate and argue with yourself about the deep philosophical trimmings of whether or not anybody at all should be allowed to experience any form of pleasure if even one among us anywhere in the world is suffering. That’ll come in handy in the future I’m sure, especially if you keep bringing it up when nobody asked
