Hmm… I dont think this guy is a marxist-leninist-maoist
You talking about this posts?
I did not want to take further actions in that thread in general (for archival purposes), but I did take one action, which in retrospect was a mistake: I removed a comment which contained the hammer and sickle symbol. I ignorantly associated this symbolism with Kremlin propaganda, and the atrocities my own people suffered at the hands of the soviet union during the previous century. Many users (including hexbear users) correctly (and politely) pointed out to me in DMs that the symbol has a much broader use than just as the symbol of the USSR, and people elsewhere in the world may not associate it with the USSR at all. I am grateful for users who pointed this out to me without resorting to personal attacks.
I get hes not a leftist. But I feel like he gets a “one of the good ones” stickers.
Wait, for real? Thats a pretty dumb thing to say. I’ve seen him be fairly supportive of hexbear.
I saw a comment of him complaining about some Hexbear users calling him subhuman, which got unanimous support that its not okay. But even after that he told users to block individuals and he will not be defederating.
Failure to reform gains support for a revolution. Threat of a revolution makes reform possible. Realistically, they should go hand in hand.
Its probably a good label for me, I just don’t like the word centrist lol.
For schools to buy the entire system. And its advertised right after stories of school shootings. Its really fucked up.
Our local radio stations have commercials for school security systems. Like a key card to access all the doors and the police are given key cards. Whenever a school shooting happens they come up in frequency again.
Wait, did I miss something? I’m from one of those “lib instances” and I’m not seeing anything about defederation.
My wife likes making potato tacos. Its just mashed potatoes in tortillas and you fry it in a pan with some oil. Throw on some hot sauce and they are great.
Moistcritikal might be in the “apolitical gamer” crowd but him and Sneako have some great drama between them.
The drama led to my all time favorite Charlie moment: https://youtu.be/gmp8O3aD4AM?si=HPP0ZWsFfj3ozvja
Anti-authoritarianism is weird because it sees government authority as an ultimate evil but private entities authority as the status quo.
Private banks forcing people out of their homes? Thats a good society. Government doing the same and distributing it? Authoritarian evil.
Then if there is a successful revolution - anything the revolutionaries do is now authoritarian because they took over the government.
I got a special hatred for the “I use to be left leaning, but now they’ve gone too far!” type liberals
100% Bernie changed my mind. A simple campaign of “Healthcare for All” got me thinking, why don’t we already have that? Pushed me way to the left when I did more reading (looking at you, Karl). Then Bernie getting fucked over started my reform doomer arc.
A push of reform will gain support for the movement. Reform failing encourages support for a revolution. A threat of revolution makes reform actually possible. These ideologies should go hand in hand but holy fuck do these people normally hate each other.
So if anything us Communists should be MORE Doomer
Unironically, sort of my beliefs. I’m basically a DemSoc who has little faith that reform will work. As Capitalism continues and inequality grows while the planet burns, a more drastic change becomes more and more inevitable.
I’m already Doomer on the reform - time to preemptively become Doomer on the revolution!
Btw congrats on the job!
I actively try to avoid him and youtube still throws his or his long-haired doppelganger’s videos in my feed. Its not this shitpost that’s spreading his name around.
I have the moral high ground!
Wait, this works too well
John Harvey Kellogg was a surgeon who performed circumcisions. He believed they were an effective treatment for “addiction to masterbation”.
There are conspiracy theories (misconceptions?) that he popularized circumcisions in America. Or that Corn Flakes were created to curb masterbation urges - because they are so bland that obviously no one would want to jerk it after eating that.
Idk where I’m going with this, but John Harvey Kellogg was a weird fucking dude.
What are you talking about? Those are perfectly normal sized emojis like any other hexbear user would post.
I had to put a quits to most online games where you can’t pause (mostly due to getting married, rescuing a cat, then rescuing a dog). Now, I play single player games almost exclusively and I can tell my mental health is better. Online “gamer” communities are incredibly toxic, especially for competitive games like League of Legends or Overwatch (🤮). It really sounds like the communities you were a part of where shit.
I’ve got 2000+ hours in Slay the Spire, mostly during covid. Something that the freedom of pausing taught me was that you can simply stop when you aren’t having fun. Like, I’ll get these moments of clarity where I think “Huh, this isn’t enjoyable right now”. I save my game and walk away.
Playing games is less of a default. Its now something I do when I really want to do it.
I still play with my friends sometimes, but we schedule time throughout the week for it. We are doing a Baldurs Gate 3 playthrough and we play on Sunday and Tuesday nights.
Well now you’ve piqued my interest
