Some lighter news, today the conservative leader of Queensland (in Australia) banned any discussion of abortion in Parliament or amendment to existing abortion laws

Abortion dominated debate in the October state election, with the Labor party claiming the LNP would restrict a woman’s right to choose.

The subject threatened to derail the LNP’s campaign, after Katter’s Australian Party (KAP) pledged to introduce legislation to repeal Queensland’s abortion laws after the election.

At the time, Premier David Crisafulli denied the laws would change, but wouldn’t say how he would prevent that from happening.

Katter’s Australian Party MPs slammed the gag as unprecedented and a marker of the “death of democracy”.
