  • It does not make any sense for me anyway to censor TikTok.

Tiktok makes money from ads, so they censor content to conform to what their customers want their ads associated with.

Coke* doesn’t want their ad associated with a naked person demonstrating the latest in dildo technology.

The censorship is not to protect the children. Tiktok doesn’t give any more of a shit about kids than any other company. It’s to protect their revenue.

    * I don’t know if Coke advertises on Tiktok. They’re just the first brand I thought of who would probably object to the pairing.

  • It’s certainly not because you don’t brush enough. However, you should take care of your teeth. Having to get them drilled and filled won’t make you feel better about them.

Teeth also aren’t really meant to be white, so don’t sweat the yellow tint, unless it’s because you’re eating a lot of Cheetos without brushing. Then you should brush.

My wife’s teeth are pretty crooked from the pushing her wisdom teeth did before they got removed. I think her smile looks great. It’s not like anyone other than her dentist would care.

Regarding the other issue, I’m not going to kink shame, but it’s generally considered a faux pas to use teeth in that situation.

    Edit: since you asked:

My teeth are shit. I think it’s probably because my right-wing-nut father believed that fluoridation was a communist conspiracy, so growing up we only drank spring water, then when I moved, I moved to an area that doesn’t add fluoride to the water. I didn’t start using a fluoride rinse until my 40’s.

(Yes, he voted for the pedophile, and yes he believes everything that secretary brain-worm spews)

Last year when I went to the dentist, there were three cavities. One of them on #2.

#2 developed a dent from a wisdom tooth pushing against it. When the wisdom tooth was removed, the dent was exposed. That was followed by 10 years of the dentist warning me that it might develop a cavity. Then it developed a cavity, so it was drilled and filled.

A cavity on the back of the back molar is absolutely brutal to fill for the dentist and the patient. It took over an hour and we were both worn out completely when it was done.

The new cavity on #2 meant it needed a crown, however the cavity was under the gum line, so it needed a “Crown Lengthening Procedure”. Google that if you want to have nightmares.

The procedure actually wasn’t as bad as the pictures looked, but it meant around seven months of never chewing on that side of my mouth. Also, when the dressings came off, that tooth let it be known that it didn’t like having it’s undercarriage exposed.

Now I still can’t chew on that side because something doesn’t feel quite right.

The next time that tooth has a problem, I’m just going to have it pulled. I’m sick of dealing with it.

My mother-in-law stayed over and was having trouble understanding how to use the Brita water filter on the kitchen sink faucet.

In frustration she told my wife that the filter should just always be on. My wife tried explaining to her that you wouldn’t want to filter water that you were using to wash a dish because the filters cost money…and she saw her mother just stop listening. As it was described to me, she just walked away and clearly didn’t want to understand.

That’s a faucet-mounted water filter with three settings: filtered, normal unfiltered, and spray unfiltered. However, the complexities of it frustrated my MIL to the point of ignoring her daughter.

She’s also the most tech-literate of the parents.
