No C+2 would be C ++ ++ because C++ is C+1
I don’t think it is that easy. But a good feature would be if you could make backups from communities on other instances in case they go down. It would not save the pics, but you should use a third party image service to keep the hosting costs of you instance lower anyway. In the same way, you, but only you, could download a backup of your account.
Also a good idea would be a new protocol which allows syncing feeds/communities between instance, which effectively is mirroring.
Also, check out https://lemmyverse.net/communities It’s an alternative to browse.feddit.de
I felt offended when the same thing happened to me.
we’ll need a “reinforcements arrived” issue
Ha the FBI also knows more about the internet than the french goverment does. i rather believe them then any goverment on earth regarding cybersecurity.
Ahhh yes. Ignorant and unknowing govements. Everybody knows them, everybody has them. Especially when it comes to technology and cyber security. where are their advisors if you need them?
It is way easier for newcomers to just choose the biggest instance. Newcomers are also often not really familiar with the concept of decentralization. Really big instances like mastodon.social or lemmy.world should shut their registration if they’re expieriencing high demand on their registration and direct to smaller, for example more local instances.
I once deleted my windows bootloader so even the “consumer windows” is not safe from us
