  • This match truly was won in midfield. I have no idea what Wigan were trying to do, bit it failed dismally in the first half. They weren’t really pressing our defense, but at the same time they were playing a ridiculously high defensive line themselves. If your going to do that you have to completely control the middle. But Eze, Saka, and Norgaard dominated. There was some wonderful passing right through their defense, especially from Eze and Norgaard.

If it wasn’t for their change in tactics in the second half to do more of a low block, and their goalkeeper’s heroics, they would have leaked another several goals. Though honestly we should have scored more regardless. We needed a bit more composure in their six yard box.

I thought Gyokeres looked overall pretty good when he came on. That’s exactly the kind of match you’d expect him to thrive in, and he did… At least from a holding the ball up, chasing the ball down role. His finishing wasn’t there though.

  • That’s a ridiculously low bar, but it’s also an important distinction.

Do I want Gavin Newsom to be the Democrat nominee for 2028? Hell no! He’s revealed himself to be a shallow political opportunist and an ideological chameleon. And I think that party can do better.

But regardless, would he be an improvement over Trump? Hell yes!

Another question is: is he - a supposedly populist liberal from California - even electable on a national stage? I don’t think so. But then, we live in very ‘interesting’ times. So who knows.

The third question is: will we have a fair enough election in 2028 (or an election at all)? That remains to be seen.

  • Apparently images alone don’t work. It has to be a video following a very specific set of instructions (looking to one side, then to the other, then straight ahead - or something like that).

But your point still stands. Apparently a lot of kids are getting around this by using AI generated videos, or having a parent do it for them, or just drawing giving facial hair onto themselves.

Yes, it’s definitely worse than Discord. Discord without age verification is still mostly usable. Roblox without it isn’t.

The silver lining for me is that my kids have basically abandoned the platform now. I told them I’m not sending their IDs in because there’s such a huge risk of a data breach.
