I’m not a fan of these longer three minute trailers, but I couldn’t stop watching, this looks like fun. At least everything is out of context and I have no idea what’s going on!

Didn’t Hasbro licence out their board games for movie adaptations, thats how we got Battleships. I remember this because I’m sure someone bought the film rights for Monopoly.
Because it’s not a remake. Also, Tron: Legacy was a sequel to the original Tron.
Common practice for years now. I posted because I’m quite excited. 😁

UKFilmNerd@feddit.ukMto Home Video (VHS, DVD, Blu-ray, 4k)@feddit.uk•What’s the cheapest/easiest way to get a non-region locked Blu Ray player?English2·2 months agoWhen I’m away from home, I watch blurays with my laptop, an external BD drive and PowerDVD. You can only change Blu-ray regions five times but there are a couple of PowerDVD system files to delete and this resets the counter.
After researching, it seems Blu-ray drives are all region free but it’s the software/firmware of the device controlling it that determines the region settings.
This does not apply to DVDs where the region settings is in the drives firmware but can be bypassed with things like AnyDVD I think.

Apparently you can pick another film instead. A like for like replacement.

Here in the UK, they were always in plastic cases.
UKFilmNerd@feddit.ukOPMto Home Video (VHS, DVD, Blu-ray, 4k)@feddit.uk•Hundreds of your Warner Bros DVDs probably don't work anymoreEnglish1·3 months agoOn a slightly different note here in the UK, TV studios back in the 1960s/70s had all their programs stored on magnetic tapes. When they desperately needed more tapes, they grabbed some off the shelf and wiped the contents. Whatever on that tape was then lost for all time!
When VCR’s first appeared, they were connected via the UHF connection. So you had to tune your TV to the VCR channel to watch anything.
I don’t remember any other connections until SCART came along. I was reading the Wiki and didn’t realise it was invented in France back in 1976. Essentially, SCART was the best connection you could have as it used RGB if available.
