  • Was watching economic news lately, and NEDA had said that we are on track to becoming an upper middle income country. I could not believe it then I realize that our Gini coefficient’s to blame HAHAH too much income inequality.

Hope our economic planners could do something about our country’s wealth gap, though I think that if there’s something they could have done, they would have done it ages ago.

  • Hmm…online mobile games? Guys my age play CODM or Mobile Legends or Valorant or something along those lines, but I am barely interested in what they are doing. I’ve played my fair share of online games, though they all were at either my laptop or at an internet cafe PC. Never on my phone. In fact, the only things I can remotely call a game in my phone is a Morse Code Koch trainer, a kanji practice app, and a Reversi/Othello game.

  • With the recent Oshi No Ko debacle on incest, now I’m trying to rationalize society’s unfavorable opinion on incest. What element in incest makes it bad? If both people love each other romantically, is of the right age and neither was coerced into doing so, then what right does society have to keep them apart?

Okay, someone may argue that the same bloodline can cause genetic deformities and disorders in their offspring. I get that (Hapsburg jaw is a thing after all). But if that’s the case, then shouldn’t we also frown upon getting together with people with inheritable diseases (i.e., heart disease, cancers, diabetes), genetic disorders, or harmful lifestyles (i.e., cigarette smoking) that increase the risk of offspring suffering due to those inherited ailments/disorders? AAAAAAHHHH

Now I can’t seem to find how incest is objectively and morally harmful to society. Does anyone know a strong argument against it?

  • Hmm, I can talk about the entire Cold War. From the Acheson-Lilienthal Plan which led to the Baruch Plan whose rejection sparked the Cold War arms race to the 1970s detente to Reagan’s “MR. GORBACHEV, TEAR DOWN THIS WALL!”, I can talk about it with only minor stops. Oh, isama na din yung more obscure proxy wars during the period such as the chess wars (Soviet school of chess, Karpov, Kasparov, Fischer) and yung Transfermium Wars (Dubna Institute, UCLA-Berkeley, CERN)

  • Actually, knowing Aka Akasaka, he probably is just stirring the audience. But knowing the manga (which is famous for being no-holds-barred on controversial stuff), I also think he’s serious. Honestly I’m kinda puzzled.

    spoiler

Nonetheless, I like the Oshi No Ko manga very much that the incest route is the least of my worries (honestly, I’m more worried because Akane, Kana, and Mem haven’t appeared in quite some time). I’m worried na nasaksak na sila ni Hikaru Kamiki

  • Solo camping! I was always fascinated by survivalist lifestyles and with my recent watching of Yuru Camp (btw, definitely an anime I can recommend if you like slice of life), well my interest in it was bolstered. Wala din kasing medyo magandang camping spots dito. Yung camping spots mostly are for hikers, which technically is in the same vein but I don’t like walking up gravity that much.

  • As much as I am a fan of Spy x Family and Violet Evergarden, they are more for more mature audiences as they have quite the adult themes. Violet Evergarden is set in a war world and although the story is not set in the war itself, the flashbacks (especially THAT scene during the attack on the fortress) are nonetheless too violent.

Spy x Family might seem like a wholesome family anime but it has underlying political and war themes. Bond’s arc as well as Yor’s assassination techniques in Ep 2 is something that I would not really recommend to a nine year-old kid. There’s car explosions and use of dogs for warfare
