3·1 month agoThat is what I said, near light travel, not FTL. Ansible comms where instantaneous (speed of thought iirc), but not when the veasels/ships where in-transit, as they needed to “buffer” the communications somehow, in form of recorded messages. That is why Ender’s journeys took thousands of years, where only a lifetime for his siblings on earth.

2·2 months agoI see Canada, Mexico, and a number of countries in Central and South America that operating in the same time zones as the USA benefiting.
I’ve just been contacted by one, and they went with “you can work on whatever timezone you like, as long as you can have some overlaping time with the usa”.

1·2 months agoHave a word. If you put forward a powerful point, you would still have access to them. Whether the outlook is bleak or not, depends on your legacy as a parent. But typically they’d move where the project or opportunity lies. No point trying to window them in.

15·3 months agoI do tech support on a global company, and some customers have started to demand their cases not to be readable for our usa based colleagues, nor the shared info hosted on usa clouds. So that wall is somewhat already there.








I think you meant 2.4GHz and 5GHz, for wifi.
2g and 5g are for cellular networks.
