Katherineto Not The Onion@lemmy.world•US egg imports meant to drive prices down could be hit by tariffsEnglish7·4 months agoThis product wasn’t available to me when I went vegan, and now I don’t want foods that resemble animal products. So no, I haven’t tried myself. But my impression is it is very similar to chicken eggs.

Katherineto Thunderbird@lemmy.world•Is there a way to have emails organized like a Whatsapp or Signal conversation?1·7 months agoEvery email provider I have used has had an “All mail” folder. Perhaps it is called Archive by some providers.
However, you could create such a “folder” yourself. I’d suggest a tag actually. Set up a filter in thunderbird or via your email provider to tag all received emails and all sent emails with this tag. You can then open the tag to see all emails.
Katherineto Thunderbird@lemmy.world•Is there a way to have emails organized like a Whatsapp or Signal conversation?5·7 months agoIf you open your All Mail folder instead of your Inbox it should group all the emails (sent and received) together. However, when I try, it duplicates many emails, so it is confusing.

Katherineto vegan@hexbear.net•Vegans- would y'all drink/consume animal-free milk that is "actual" MILKEnglish5·8 months agoNo, I would never want such a product. If something is close enough in taste to dairy it is disgusting to me. Also, the proteins and fats in dairy are known to be unhealthy, and I if I wasn’t vegan, I’d still avoid dairy for the health impact.
Katherineto vegan@lemmy.world•Another reason why we know vegans are in the right!English11·8 months agoIn your post, you do not reference politics in any form. You reference adoption of veganism, which is a personal choice, in the context of your post means you are refering to Mississippians as individuals.
I maintain your post is offensive and discrimatory to individuals!
Also, I am well aware of that adage and the status Mississippi holds. It is my culture in fact, and I do not need that explained to me.
Katherineto vegan@lemmy.world•Another reason why we know vegans are in the right!English33·8 months agoHowever, you did not put any of this in your original post. Your original post associated geographical location with being right or wrong, with no explanation as to what you may have meant. The post is discrimination violating rule #1 of this community.
If you wanted to discuss education or politics and veganism, you could have posted your comment above or any other good-faith discussion.
Your meme is offensive.
Katherineto vegan@lemmy.world•Another reason why we know vegans are in the right!English68·8 months agoIf you support promoting veganism, then you should support promoting it to everyone regardless of political or cultural background. Do you think your post helps promote veganism to people from Mississippi or similar states???
I find your post divisive and offensive. I suggest you take it down.

Since you hold a strong opinion on the quality, can you give an example of an animated icon pack which keeps to good design standards?
Katherineto Health - Resources and discussion for everything health-related@lemmy.world•Severe obesity is on the rise in the USEnglish41·10 months agoThe mechanism you are describing about fat cells refilling vs making new cells, does not make sense. They have done studies, and the number of fat cells remain constant during adulthood, unless you undergo liposuction or other procedures. I think what you are describing is a set point weight, where your body tries (via hormones I think) to maintain its preferred weight. So its more a metabolism effect rather than physical space issue about storing fat.
I don’t have a solution. However, here’s suggestions.
Try to evaluate her actions and words as a reflection as to her own insecurities or immaturity. Try to assess if there is any thing you can say to her to get her to respect you the way you wish. This would likely involve setting clear personal boundaries. If not, then don’t be her friend, and spend time with people who you have better relationships with. You can also try to make new friends by joining activities you have genuine interest in. I’m guessing if you find people who share your values or interests, you’ll be happier.
Also, if you have some friends you like better, ask them directly if they view you as childish. Ask them to be specific and honest. There might be something easy you can do differently. Or they might not view you as childish at all.
People should be eating high fiber foods everyday, in significant quantities. You body does adapt. If even small quantities of these foods causes issues, then you can try increasing slowly and consistently, over say a month or two. Or you can try changing your diet quickly if you have time to deal with any potential side effects short term.
So, just make sure to cook the grains and legumes properly, don’t worry about how cooking degrades nutrients, and eat lots consistently. If one methods of cooking digests or tastes better for you, stick to that.
It’s like people who ask why exercise hurts after being sedentary for a long time. Just exercise more, and it won’t hurt.

Go to a gynecologist!!! They have heard weirder things than this before. They can test your hormone levels and check for other menstrual disorders. Particularly if you are young, you should check to see if what you are experiencing is normal with a doctor. Menstrual cycles can be intense when younger, but hopefully settle later on.
