Photoshop und Illustrator laufen mittlerweile mit wine, sogar relativ aktuelle Versionen. 🥰

Würde gerne auf Affinity wechseln, aber die laufen überhaupt nicht.

Und GIMP ist keine Alternative, das benötigt ein komplettes UI/UX-Overhaul, ich habe selten so ein grässliches Interface gesehen - und dabei verwende ich Cinelerra für Videoschnitt, bin also einiges gewohnt.

Nvidia drivers on Linux are messy and have been for a long time. It took them ages to fix Vsync in Wayland. If you want to run Linux, go AMD (or Intel).

It’s only a test run done by a few companies, though. I’m a German and having a four day work week is still highly unlikely. Most people work 40h/week or more, from Monday to Friday.

I’m in the very lucky position to have a 30 hour work week. 3x8,1x6 and Fridays off. None of the people I know work like this, they either simply can’t afford it or they don’t have enough leverage against their employer to make it possible.

Also, the conservative parties in our political system are actively pushing against it, demanding even more work to compensate for our rapidly aging population and they will be back in office after February. What a time to be alive.

I used the m0nkrus versions, installed them on Windows (because his installer doesn’t work in wine) and copied these folders into my wineprefix:

C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Local\Adobe

Then I used winetricks to install these dependencies: winetricks vcrun2022 vkd3d dxvk atmlib corefonts gdiplus allfonts fontsmooth=rgb

If it crashes often, disable GPU acceleration in the settings. Photoshop just works, but Illustrator needs a patch applied to wine, otherwise the GUI has major graphical errors and you also need to add a DLL override for msxml3.dll and set it to “native, builtin”.

Illustrator also needs these files copied and renamed in its own directory:

icuin73.dll => icuin.dll
icuuc73.dll => icuuc.dll

According to this result, Photoshop CC 2023 seems to run now, too.

I got Illustrator 2022 and Photoshop 2020 to run on wine. Only the “patched” versions, though.

Mir wurde die Miete für zwei Jahre erlassen, also dachte ich mir “Na gut, du kannst dir noch nen eigenen Router kaufen innerhalb des Zeitraums”. Ich konnte ja nicht damit rechnen, dass die das Teil per Update kaputtmachen. :D

Hinter der ollen Gurke habe ich ohnehin einen eigenen Router mit OpenWRT und nutze das nur als Modem.
