I got teriyaki this time but I have tried all the other pre marinaded ones. There’s a pervasive flavour in the background on all of them which I can only attribute to the stick. Also the texture is off somehow. It’s hard to explain.

Why do chicken skewers from supermarkets taste weird? And the texture is also weird. Is it the stick?

I visited the new Rosanna library today. The balustrade pictured here is 10mm thick steel. Obviously it wouldn’t be a single piece but it looks like one. It’s quite astonishing. I’m puzzled by the fact that it’s painted though. If you use a material like that in a way that’s a bit unusual and clearly meant to be a design feature, don’t hide it with paint 🤷

There’s heaps of peaches at the market and they seemed really nice and ripe. I bought heaps so might make a salad next.
