It’s a dumb lawsuit and it would just swing the other way if they only charged 10 or 15%. Other store fronts would complain they can’t compete against steam because they’re the biggest and no other stores could compete on price.

Right now I pay a bit extra to buy games on steam just because I mostly play on steam deck now and the shader pre caching is a big benefit for that.
