      Were those voyages this long, this far away from any land? As far as i know, people in most cases travelled along some kind of mainland, or islands at least, making frequent stops for resupplies.

      it will never justify any cruelty, any of the infamous historical figures of the colonialism comited, but it surely explains, at least partially, why the guy became as cruel as he was.

      Tbh i feel dirty just discussing this topic, but i’m still too curious to stop doing that. Those were indeed one of the cruelest periods in human history, rivaled only by nazis probably. I’m glad we’re doing so much better right now.
