EMS radios have by and large moved to proprietary digital encrypted systems. It’s not like it used to be.
It’s also a federal offense to jam a frequency. I understand that legality is not the point of the post, but it’s a different space entirely than having a bucket and safety glasses at a protest. The FCC doesn’t screw around and if you jam a frequency that’s shared with fire and EMS (and modern digital radios do that) you’re not going to have the jury on your side.
if you jam a frequency that’s shared with fire and EMS
first off, don’t fuck with actual EMS. second off, jamming sets up a nice little electromagnetic flare that someone as stupid as me could triangulate your location with a bicycle and a radio. if i can do it, pretty damn sure they have a machine that can do it better. don’t be stupid.

This part bothered me. It starts out saying “these things are legal to own” and then explicitly says to do something illegal.
Legality ≠ morality, but you should be clear when mixing legal and not legal things.
It’s morally correct to smash a brick into a fascist government funded kidnapper’s face. It’s still illegal.
