2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
I enjoyed yesterday’s shave with Eufros Rosa Oud so much that I thought I would celebrate Teufrosday with Vetiver de Haiti. Again, the lather and scent were top notch.
I was rushed today, but the River Razor still left me with a great shave. From speaking with him, I know that Boris (at River Razors) is much more interested in making a razor that performs as well (or better) than the best razors made. He takes great care with his choice of steel and of grind. They are spot-on for the razor that I have. This razor takes a terrific edge.

- Razor: Wilkinson Classic black

Today’s shave was with a different razor, so I consider it interesting enough to post it here. 😁
1 pass head shave. It’s not as close as with the Headblade, but way more comfortable. I stand firmly with my older statement: safety razors might not be as fast for shaving your head, but way more comfortable. Even the cheap black plastic Wilkinson Classic is extremely good for it, especially with the covered blade tabs.
The cheap plastic Wilkinson sword is generally surprisingly good!
Yep. Unfortunately, even with the cheap price they’ve cut some corners compared to the older razors - the metal piece inside the handle is shorter now, so it slides around a bit. Also it has become more fragile with it’s closing mechanism - now it’s more prone to break the plastic screw than it already was. I guess it’s to push the sale of the Baili TTO razor that’s now running under their Classic moniker.
Ugh, even the cheapest razor can be made even cheaper, apparently 🫠

Same shave as yesterday. Today was Djunior’s first ski school lesson. I’m not sure there’s anything cuter than toddlers on skis.
Wait, he hasn’t been skiing before?! Or this is just his first professional lesson?
He hasn’t been really skiing before. He has spent some time on those plastic training skis for toddlers that you strap to normal shoes, but they don’t really count as skiing.

- Brush: Zenith B03-A26 (B2)
- Razor: MMOC Gen 2
- Blade: Personna GEM PTFE (3)
- Lather: Barrister & Mann - Fougère Classique - Soap
- Post Shave: Chicago Grooming Co. - Frankie & Myrna - Aftershave
- Post Shave: Nivea Sensitive Balm
Well, I just saw in my email that Fougere Classique is being discontinued. It’s probably in my top 3 or 5 soap scents. Oh well.
Cologne Russe is also being disco’d, which is another favorite of mine.
SAD!
Great shave with the MMOC. I’m a happy owner of one of these now, after borrowing a Gen 1 and Gen 2 from @EldrormR@sub.wetshaving.social. I think Micromatic Open Comb’s being aggressive is one of the worst takes in wetshaving lore. They are efficient, but not at all scary to use.

I agree completely. For me, the MMOC was love at first shave. And, congrats on your new acquisition!
