    It costs more to own because it loses value more quickly… You mean, like all EVs? Or were you talking about the car losing half of its value the minute it drives off the lot?

      It’s a problem with targeting this market segment.

      Suppose you want a new car, and can choose between 3 options:

      • a new, reliable Japanese branded car for 100 dollaridoos
      • a new, Chinese no-name for 60 dollaridoos
      • a 5 year old, reliable Japanese branded car for 60 dollaridoos

      The people that buy the Chinese car are heavily motivated by two things: they’re price sensitive, but they want a “new” car.

      Therefore, no one wants to buy a second hand Chinese car.
