    This is horrifying. A manual window breaking device that is part of the interior of the car should be standard by now. It wouldnā€™t be that difficult to design. This is not a Tesla exclusive problem.

      I never actually thought about this, but youā€™re right. Wtf isnā€™t this a standard, and part of saftey scores?

      For some cars you can remove the head rest and use the metal prongs, but itā€™s still probably not as good as an actual purpose built punch.

      Doesnā€™t seem thereā€™s a tool available for breaking laminated glass. Which is also terrifying but I do understand why the DOT mandated the switch.

      In most cars I would say use the headrest, but my assumption on that the trasla.did something dumb to make those not useful either.
