I was about to say the same thing! Still hanging in there, 233k on it and hope to go a few more years. Weirdly enough it’s a base model car and does have Bluetooth, but only for phone calls not audio. It also has a key fob which I think is funny because neither of my wife’s cars (a 2006 Lexus and a 2015 Toyota highlander) even have that.

I had a key fob but it accidentally went through the washing machine lol I had to take the battery out because it kept setting off the alarm every 5 minutes

I got one of those Bluetooth transmitters that plugs into the lighter so I could listen to music from my phone!

Haha, wow, I did the same thing. It randomly went off after that twice before I did the same. I ended up waiting weeks for it to dry completely before trying again, and it worked fine after that, thankfully.

I tried at least 3 different Bluetooth solutions as well but none lasted very long. My car keeps the plugs active even when not running so I was never able to keep it plugged in. A few of them the dongle that plugs into aux just broke or needed to be wiggled after some time and so I just gave up. I just went back to straight aux cable to usb c and has been ok for a bit now.

One thing I need desperately is a new exhaust, outside that it’s running pretty good.

I let mine dry completely and it just did nothing, so I popped it open and replaced the battery and it worked ok but it would set off the panic alarm at random times so I just use the regular key now

Given the natural progression of time, “dumb” cars will eventually become a non-viable option. Do we have any methods to keep them from tracking our driving habits?

So my car is from 2012. How exactly are these new cars accessing the internet to report back to the manufacturer?
