If you are “both-sideist” and one side is Israel, and the other side is Hamas, I don’t really see how that can be defensible or OK. Imagine being “both-sideist” and one side is the KKK.

Israelis will really look at the Peace Lines Potato Famine Island screaming “WE’RE LITERALLY SPEAKING FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WHEN WE LABEL YOU AS COLONIZERS!” and be like, “God, why are you being so antisemitic‽”

have a hard time buying halal meat like I used to before 7.10… I just can’t get over the politics unfortunately. Even when I have no idea what the politics of the person who did the slaughter are.

Also, there’s something really funny about the ones saying Mia Khalifa.

Oh that’s the richest part, chuds accusing absolutely everyone who criticizes Israel of hating all Jews being all “after October 7th I just can’t trust anything made by a Muslim.”

Yes, I can’t step foot in a Middle-Eastern store like I used to, to stock up on certain products. I got to try an Iraqi restaurant back last year post 7.10, but only because I knew it was Christian owned.

Agreed- on doing business with Arab and Muslim merchants for now. They may be otherwise decent people but you just know what their views are going to be on the topic so why go there.

I went to a new, big like Turkish/middle eastern supermarket sometime after 7/10, couldn’t stop thinking about while I was in there. I also am kinda loathe to return. Probably won’t.

What the fuck?? I wouldn’t even consider to stop going to a Jewish/Kosher place I liked because of Israel

The Iraq thing is funny too because like…there are Christian Palestinians and Israeli missiles can’t tell religion in that brief window before it lands. As far as I’m aware, Christian Arabs also despise Israel.

The Serj Tankian comments made me sit down. They acknowledge that he’s right about 9-11 but since he said it two days afterwards he’s wrong or something and that he’s Armenian.

I’m still trying to figure out what Armenians did to zionists to earn their ire outside of getting ethnically cleansed from Palestine in 48 and trying to stay in the Armenian quarter of Old Jerusalem.

  • Not exactly an artist but the entire nation of Ireland. No Guinness for me ever. Was half tempted to buy an Ulster Flag for St Patricks day.

I would think a bit with this premise would be too outlandish, but here we are. They’re so close to the mask coming off.

Also, don’t like Billie Eilish after her Oscars stunt with the ceasefire pin.

a ceasefire pin is the most mild fucking statement imaginable. “Ermm a generic peace for both sides statement? How dare you even SUGGEST we pause our mass slaughter of innocent life!”

they should boycott these countries next

Don’t you know? You’re a monster if you:

      Call it a genocide

      Call for a ceasefire

      Call Israel an occupation

      Wear a keffiyeh

      Wear a ceasefire pin

      Display the Palestinian flag

      Engage in a protest

Demand an end to providing arms to the occupation

Post videos or images of the genocide

Ask that the occupation exercise serious restraint

      Boycott

Send aid including food to Gaza

Ask that the occupation stop starving people to death

      Watermelon (?)

And apparently according to a post or two over there, saying nothing at all too apparently

Probably about twenty more I missed but this list is long enough already.

There was someone in the thread calling some celebrity a pro Hamas antisemite for posting a selfie of herself in a green paragliding suit a week after October 7th because she’d been paragliding. She also practically immediately deleted the post and made a public apology but that still isn’t enough apparently.

I had a look at the sidebar rules. There is the expected don’t do this and don’t do that which goes on and on. But there’s something that made me laugh. The ninth list item at the very end. They basically say they’ll give you a temporary or permanent ban based on vibes.

    Emphasis mine.

    9. Violation of sub rules and/or site-wide rules may result in post removal, warnings or bans at moderator discretion. The moderators of this subreddit reserve, in some circumstances, the right to exercise disciplinary measures based on violations witnessed in modmail or PMs and the right to arbitrarily discipline users for violations of the spirit of the rules or disruption of the subreddit’s healthy functioning.

If you want to appeal or dispute any mod action, please send a modmail. PMs and chat messages to the mods are grounds for a temporary ban; posts contesting mod action will be removed and are also grounds for a temporary or permanent ban.

Not every sub is shit. The large ones over 50k (or maybe 100k) subscribers are almost guaranteed to be shit. And the mods there are like busy body middle school kids who achieved their dream of being an asshole slash narc with a zero percent chance of getting stuffed in a locker again.

But smaller subs can be chill and the mods are actually there to make the sub better and not worse. There’s no “my way or the highway” modding.

I think the best subs tend to be the ones that have no rules (maybe because they are so small) or there’s something like this…

        Rules

Use common sense and don’t be a dick.
