So i’m in a country where cannabis is legal. Back home it is illegal. How big of a risk is it to take something in the luggage (NOT carry-on)? Are those edibles that look like real candy safer?

Not worth it. I try to either get some when I land or just take a little break until I get back home.

I’ve taken a few vape pens and edibles on domestic US flights, but wouldn’t risk anything involving international travel.

It’s arguably safer in your carry on than it is your checked luggage.

But going through customs on the other side where all your bags are likely to be scanned and searched, absolutely not worth the risk. Just buy new bud at your end destination.

I think you should know what the punishment for a first offense is first. Then know if there is a decriminalized amount you could get away with. Then it’s just your risk tolerance. Good luck.

to be clear this community would never encourage anyone to break the law. However I believe it should be up to everyone to pick their own route.

Has anyone had any success taking gummies or other edibles overseas? How has that gone?

If anything I bet buying an edible that looks like a common candy and putting it in an original bag would get you through pretty easily. It’s just dogs you need to be worried about them. But again it’s weed, I’d just not smoke for a bit or buy some there. Jail time isn’t worth a high!

Mail it if you can’t get stuff at home.

Typically all they can do if they catch things in the mail is confiscate it. Otherwise you could easily set people up by mailing drugs to them.

I think you could disguise a small amount. But, as others have mentioned, jail really really sucks. So, if you are set on bringing some, I would advise edibles in the carry on.

I agree with a lot of commenters that it just isn’t worth it to take the risk. If you really want weed wherever you are going I’d try to buy it there.

Carry on or on you don’t put that in check bag imo. Not saying to do this at all. Also depending on how much you know about the security, if it’s just metal detectors you might be able to walk it thru on you in a smell proof container in a sock or something. How ever I wouldn’t even attempt something like that with the new 360° scanner style detectors. Those go off randomly even when your pockets are empty. Ive also never attempted such going thru customs/international borders which would likely be much riskier both in getting caught and the repercussions… like others are saying I’d really recommend scoring some that’s already in your country. Let someone else be the mule… also I never commented on this post if anyone asks js
