    ䷀ General Notes

Fine lather but irritating shave for some reason today.

    ䷀ Razor and Blade Notes

    (Timeless - Stainless Steel .68 - Open Comb ::: Gillette - Nacet - M ‹503 uses›)

It could have been the brush, but I think it’s more likely that the blade was too much for my skin today.

Irritation gathered as the shave went on. That just doesn’t happen with me except with very aggressive razors.

Maybe the bug spray I had on my face reacted, IDK.

Razor and Blade Performance/Comfort Rating: 1 out of 5 (Poor)

    ䷀ Soap Notes

(Chiseled Face - Midnight Stag - White Label)

I just love all the aspects of this scent!

Scent Strength: 6/10, nicely present during shaving.

Lather… Nice slurry lather again. Very slick and easy to whip up and work with.

    Hydration: Perfect (for me)

    • 8 sec load with a Very Wet brush
    • = 6 passes of lather

    Bowl: No Bowl

    ䷀ Brush Notes

    (Zenith - r/wetshaving MOAR BOAR B35/508A XL ‹28 uses›)

I don’t know if the brush have me some burn today or not. I thought it felt quite nice.

    During the Shave Feel:
      Cheeks: A little irritating
      Neck: A little irritating
    After the Shave Closeness:
      Cheeks: Close Shave
Neck: Many hairs show whisker tips with a little length to them

    • Brush: Yaqi 26mm Synthetic
    • Razor: Karve Overlander
    • Blade: Derby Premium
    • Lather: Noble Otter - Neon Sun - Soap
    • Post Shave: Noble Otter - Neon Sun - Aftershave

Good shave. This blade did a good job for 8 shaves but it’s starting to tug a bit.

    • Brush: Zenith 506U XS Horse 🐎
    • Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89
    • Blade: Astra Superior Platinum (7)
    • Lather: The Goodfellas Smile Amber Fougère

I’m going back to Old Spice - in my opinion, an upgrade with respect to Pitralon Original.

    Have a good night!

The Sixth Day Of Weckoning is upon us

    • Brush: Rubberset 400-3 with a 26 mm unbleached Zenith boar knot at 56 mm loft
    • Razor: Weck Sextoblade Med Prep
    • Blade: Kismet Rostfrei, Polymer beschichtet (12)
    • Lather: Barrister and Mann – Oceana
    • Post Shave: Ralon – Original
    • Fragrance: Stirling Soap Co. – Island Man

Somehow, my boar has redeveloped a bit of funk and that’s after 61 uses. I’m a bit surprised and at a loss why that could be.

I had broken this brush in during last year’s Inaugural Raw Hoggin’ challenge and it’s an odd brush. I widened the Colin Ferrule just enough to barely fit the 26 mm unbleached Zenith knot, and if l I’ve set it rather low, so it’s got the strongest backbone of all my brushes. Combined with the soft Zenith tips, this makes for a unique and delightful brush. I hope the funk goes away again soon.

    August 6, 2023

    • Brush: Maggard 24mm Synthetic
    • Razor: Merkur 34C HD
    • Blade: Personna 74 (13)
    • Lather: Barrister & Mann - Cologne Russe - Soap
    • Post Shave: Noble Otter - The Night Before - Aftershave
    • Fragrance: House of Mammoth - Damocles - EdP

Cologne Russe has really grown on me the past few times I’ve used it. It’s just so good.

@PorkButtsNTaters666@sub.wetshaving.social, I’ve spent lots of time over the past day trying to get a bot running on my other test instance… Apparently the bot sort of got borked when v0.18.0 came out, and the guy who made this bot hasn’t updated it? He does say it doesn’t work with 18+, and I tend to agree! I’ve gotten some automatic posts to go through, but there are so many errors, duplicate posts, posts not getting pinned… Anyway, I’ll keep looking for a working solution.

No, I haven’t posted for help yet… but I’ve been working on it some more and I think I’ve got it figured out! I’m not quite ready to turn it on yet, but maybe in the next day or 2.

    2023.08.06 SOTN (#UNCHALLENGE shave #6):

    • Prep: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Cleanser

    • Brush: AKA Brushworks Amethyst Watchman with 26mm AP Shave Co G5C

    • Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable

    • Blade: Gillette Perma-Sharp (2)

    • Lather: Seaforth! Sea Ice Lime

    • Post Shave: Stirling Mentholated Unscented Witch Hazel and Aloe, Seaforth! Sea Ice Lime Aftershave Splash, Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Extra-Dry

Don’t know what I did, but my shave was not the best today. I keep nicking myself on the same spot on the right side of my neck, and I’m not entirely sure why. Typically this doesn’t happen. I’ll figure it out. Outside of that, the shave was uneventful and easy-going.
