Impact incendiary grenade looks dope. Hopefully they fix the damage over time bug before releasing it.

Fixing the DoT bug is going to make a lot of “bad” builds a lot more usable. I love the orbital gas for its near-constant uptime, but it could be so much better if it was working correctly.

There’s also some rumors from dataminers that we’ll be getting several new gas weapons in the future, which I hope means that Arrowhead are confident in fixing that particular bug with so much fire and gas being released lately.

NGL, getting kinda tedious with the paid cosmetics edging away from looks only and into functional improvements beyond non-premium war bond access.

You can get super credits in game, so it’s not like they’re actually paywalled.

Well I dunno about others but I’m both playing less and when I do play, on higher difficulty missions people explore and open caches way less than in the early days.

While technically not paywalled, for me personally it’s definitely going to end up being like that. Down the line that’s be fine for a live service game but it’s a 40€ purchase and it’s only been a few months, I’m not sure I’m a fan of this model in the long run.

SC are SC, but “Premium War Bonds” are not purchasable via those and require actual cash, am I wrong?

You can definitely use SCs that you find in-game to buy warbonds. I own all three of the currently-available premium warbonds, and I only paid real money for one of them. The other two I bought with SCs I picked up from missions, and I currently have another 1K SCs ready to buy the next one.

Supercredits are what you use to buy the battle passes themselves. 1,000 a pop. At 119 hours in I have bought the two recent ones with super credits, but I bought the other one with real money on release.

I have close to enough to buy the upcoming one as well with supercredits.

Yeah but at least the war bonds give you 300 credits for the next war bond and honestly I don’t mind this little bit of grind since I’m an older gamer and my group don’t mind dropping to medium difficulty to just steam roll a win and catch up on life so grinding credits isn’t too bad.

The first one was actually worse because it was only DLC there, no earnable in game currency. In 2 you can easily farm it on trivial missions if you don’t mind a little tedium, but you also just earn it as you play if you explore.

I’ve just about everything worth buying in the earned market, and looking at how many Medals that is (in total >1.2k IIRC), there is no fucking way I’m paying $$$ to match that in Premium War Bonds, much less exceed that to unlock the tiers w/ items I might find useful.🖕🏽☠️

You cant pay for warbond medals, only supercredits, which can buy the warbonds themselves (battle passes), and the armor pieces that rotate through the superstore, but nothing else.

Edit: the superstore armors have unique visuals, but so far I have not seen one that has unique mechanical effects, though I could be wrong, I don’t look in there much

Sorry, I’m super tired and conflating terms. The “Premium War Bonds” menus that can only be unlocked with cash vs. the finite War Bonds menu (singular) that take medals for everything (including SC chips). Does that make sense?

      You pay for warbonds?

I’m sitting on 2100 credts before this thing even dropped, and it gives 300 credits inside the warbond, so it’s a net cost of 700 credits. That’s like a week or two of casual play.

There’s a new smg, plasma and assault rifle as well as a new impact incendiary grenade

The more weapons they add the more diluted and redundant the balancing will become, we’ll just see how far they keep going like this. If they continue releasing weapons at this rate for a year more it could get really weird.

How far will they go to attract new and retain players with new weapons.

Looking forward to the quasar assault rifle

Yeah I’m pretty stoked for new stuff already, but I’m worried they’re going to “iPad baby” the community and risk losing attention if they don’t saturate us with new shit every few weeks.

Unfortunately, that’s the reality of the live service market. You need to have content to keep players. At the rate AH is releasing patches and content, things will break.

They’ve been pretty keen on balancing weapons regularly, so I don’t think they’d do that or else why even waste the time balancing and creating contention with the community over it, but time will tell

I think it’s okay, for 99% of the balance changes I’ve agreed even though some of them I kneejerk disliked because it was a nerf of a weapon I liked.

The biggest thing I’d disagree with is that they haven’t balanced all the weapons I think they should, but the changes they have made im not really mad about

I’m a little disappointed with the armor; these sets look like they could’ve been a perfect way to add a new armor perk that lets you traverse snow more effectively. Imagine if they had built-in Muscle Enhancement with those snow cleats! Instead we’re just getting Servo-Assisted, Fortified, and Scout. Again.

Excited for the new weaponry, though.
