/c/opensource is currently unmoderated because all the existing mod accounts are inactive.
Thats why we are looking for new moderators. To apply as mod, reply below indicating what would make you a good moderator for this community, and mention any previous mod experience you have. You should be registered on lemmy.ml and have previous posting history.
Lots of bugs in federated moderation…
This, particularly reports are not fully federated.
I just opened an issue about it: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/4744
Because the lemmy.ml admins have a very particular moderating style they want to extend to all of the communities on their site I guess.
If that’s the case, sad
Would’ve liked to chime in but I will not create a new account only for this 😅
I am willing to moderate. I have no moderation experience. My current account is on lemmy.world but I will create new account on lemmy.ml for this purpose. Since the new account will not have any history, hence I am posting from this account so you can see my history. If you think I am perfect for this role please contact me and I will create a new account on lemmy.ml.
Happy to chip in, but not as sole mod. I ressurected the DeGoogled community on lemmy.ml and overseeing it since then.
Can you link me to that community? I searched for degoogled and came up dry.
Thanks!
Alright Ive added @kevincox@lemmy.ml, @CrypticCoffee@lemmy.ml and @Lettuceeatlettuce@lemmy.ml as mods and removed the inactive ones.
I’ll throw my hat in. I’ve moderated multiple Discord communities before and currently. I’ve also moderated forums back in the day.
I am passionate about FOSS and the community around it. I’ve been a Linux user for 4+ years now and work in IT, so I have a good handle on the current trends in tech.
Thanks for your consideration!
I am willing to help with moderate. I have minimal existing moderation experience but have a long posting history and online presence.
I will not be able to commit enough time to be a sole moderator, but can help out as part of a team.
Count me in!
