Statement Regarding the Matter of Representative Matt Gaetz

Pursuant to Committee Rule 7, the Committee on Ethics (Committee) determined to release the following statement: On April 9, 2021, the Committee announced it had initiated a review into allegations that Representative Matt Gaetz may have engaged in sexual misconduct and/or illicit drug use, shared inappropriate images or videos on the House floor, misused state identification records, converted campaign funds to personal use, and/or accepted a bribe, improper gratuity, or impermissible gift, in violation of House Rules, laws, or other standards of conduct.

Key point seems to be:

…the Committee is reviewing allegations pursuant to Committee Rules 14(a)(3) and 18(a) that Representative Gaetz may have: engaged in sexual misconduct and illicit drug use, accepted improper gifts, dispensed special privileges and favors to individuals with whom he had a personal relationship, and sought to obstruct government investigations of his conduct.

      This sleazebag is my Congressman, well attainted with his sins. But can we stop acting like a 17-yo. is a child who was forcibly raped? Yes, “child rape” is technically correct, but the image we form from that term is not the reality.

      Anyway, the charges fell through. She wouldn’t testify and opened an OnlyFans page, so the prosecution felt that was a non-starter. He got away with it.

      He’s smarter than he looks, but he’s basically a rich frat boy that flew too high, too fast. And not least, talked too much. Here’s hoping his wings finally melt off and he makes a crater in Pensacola Bay.

        Kids cant consent to sex with an adult. It doesnt change at 12 or 16 or 17.

        You fuck a 17 year old when youre 36, yes you committed statutory rape. Its not “aww shucks, close enough” consenual sex. Especially when that 17 year was also plied with illegal drugs and alcohol by these adults.

        The fact that the victim opened an onlyfans in her 20s after being drugged and raped by several 40 year old men when she was a minor isn’t the defense you think it is. Sexual trauma often manifests as sexual promiscuity as victims try to retake control of their bodies from their abusers.

        Yes. I am quite sure Matt Gaetz is very thankful for his exorbitantly wealthy father leaning on the scales ⚖️ of “justice”.

        And let’s not forget his 2008 DUI arrest that Matt Gaetz also escaped Scot-Free.
