I watched an ad on youtube the other day and it was basically showing the story of an asian girl with a funny sounding name who could never get people to use it correctly, and I was thinking it was a compelling story. And I was kind of aware in the back of my head like “this is an advertisement, where could this possibly be going to suck money out of me?” but I was willing to see where it went.
It was trying to sell me some crap personalized jewelry on etsy.
What kind of soulless husk of a human do you have to be to write something like that to hawk some random garbage you no doubt give not a single shit about? What the fuck is this hell we live in?
I’ve had Adblock for so long that the other day when I used my friend’s phone to show them something on youtube I was taken by surprise by just how much worse the advertising has gotten on there.
I mean, I remember thinking one skippable 30-sec advert was a pain in the ass, now they have like 3 and they’re mostly unskippable. Fuck that.
