    I never got the appeal of that novelty account. But I also never checked if its explained in the bio of the account. Does low quality just mean its not true? Most of it isn’t really funny either.

      People follow these “sciencey” accounts to think they’re getting a bite sized scientific content but very few will actually fact check. And these account make money from people who think they’ve gotten smarter or have some lesser known facts.

      They’re actually just hoping to make money off of anything from simple stuff to nonsense to drive engagement with a “plausible deniability” by saying it was just for “entertainment”.

      Fox News style of appearing “authentic” but for the money’s sake.

      “Hey it’s in our name, “low quality” we aren’t actually fact checking anything at all. Too bad you appeared like a dumbass to your friend”

      It’s mostly just stuff the author probably thought up and made within 5 minutes. If they were funny or fact checked they wouldn’t be low quality enough to qualify under the name.
