Hi comrades, I just pushed a big update to https://jumble.top/ with lots of new content (and some removals).

The new feeds proxy anonymously to the source content and are no longer a mirror of podking’s feeds, which have been unavailable for some time. The feed urls have changed but your existing subscriptions should be automatically redirected, unless the feed no longer exists.

Please send any feeds you may have to collectivize. o7

The new feeds proxy anonymously to the source content

Hi, is it intentional that the podcast feeds now link directly to Patreon (patreonusercontent.com) instead of being served from jumble.top like before?

An example from the Trueanon feed (https://jumble.top/f/trueanon):

    <enclosure url="https://c10.patreonusercontent.com/4/patreon-media/p/post/105937219/f89aade2d14a409ca3ec07e906eda4d0/eyJhIjoxLCJwIjoxfQ%3D%3D/1.mp3?token-time=1723420800&token-hash=SDhxbPe6gYCT3y5ubf-zE0tnj2Bi1tu4p9ctVRyv8WE%3D" length="94767927" type="audio/mpeg"/>

This has the side effect of breaking downloads in mainland China because Patreon is blocked here. You can still download through a VPN, but it’s like a hundred times slower lol.

Also, thank you for creating jumble.top! I wouldn’t be listening to podcasts if it weren’t for your website. Other podcast platforms insert ads into the media file which really ruins the listening experience.

It’s intentional to lighten the load on the server, as the patreon tokens are actually not user-specific so the content links don’t need to be proxied. But I hadn’t taken into account the fact that it might be blocked. You can now append ?proxy=1 to the feed url to proxy the patreon links. Thanks for the feedback!

I’m curious how one comes across these premium feeds, generally. Is someone subscribing to them all? Is someone ‘borrowing’ a friends subscription? Is there some server hax going on?

Does anyone want Your Kickstarter Sucks added to the list? I’m willing to share my sub feed, if someone will tell my dumb ass how to do so?

I will share what podking tried to walk me through long ago on their method. i was never able to get it to work for me but i chalk that up to user error on my part.

[podking] reddit I periodically check, twitter I use a site called phantombuster to export search results daily

[podking] and a bunch of scripts to parse through all the tweets and find patreon urls

[lobsterdog666] looking at the phantombuster thing now… i assume this function is what youre using? “Twitter Search Export Scrape and export the results of a Twitter search into a spreadsheet”

      [podking] yep

[podking] never needed to pay for it, free 10 minutes per day has always been plenty

[lobsterdog666] what are you putting into the search field for results?

      [podking] patreon.com/rss/

      [podking] redditsearch.io for reddit comments

[lobsterdog666] so if i wanted to automate this for trillbillies i would put “redditsearch.io trillbilly worker’s party” or something like that?

[podking] search string for that is www.patreon.com/rss/ auth

It’s a mix of personal subscriptions, links people have accidentally shared on twitter and reddit, and feeds people have sent me here to share. If you DM me your link for YKS I’ll add it, thanks!

Sure, so this is on apple podcasts and seems to be episode specific. Some episodes work normally while for others I get the following error: as soon as I hit ‘play’, a notification pops up that reads “This episode couldn’t be played. Please try again.” and produces no sound. Since this is episode specific maybe the bug is on their end, but I’ll make a brief list of working and broken episodes here so the bug can hopefully be reproduced. I should also mention that I was previously subscribed to their unpaid feed in case that makes a difference.

        Working episodes:

        • Bonus: the rise and fall of the American constitutional model ep. 4

        • This week in history, July 31-August 6

        Broken episodes:

        • News- Israel assassinations, US-Russia Prisoner swap, …

        • Special - 2024 Venezuel Presidential Election

        • Special - Israel assassinations in Iran and Lebanon
