I didnt fall down the alt-right pipeline, but it instilled in me the idea that I didnt have a mental illness, I was just looking for an excuse for my own flaws. I probably have ADD or something and i buried it for like 6 years until 3 days ago, and now i have to figure this shit out.

Also, yes, this page is my personal diary, what of it?

Honestly surprised that the websiteinaction set of subreddits wasn’t killed in the hatespeech waves. [They do a lot of it. Example1 Example2. This is basically the state of all the “inaction” subs.

KiA was specifically recovered by the admins after the head mod shut it down a while ago, which is quite hypocritical when the official stance is “if you don’t like the way the sub is run go create your own”.

They know what goes on there, but until somebody shines a light on it in the mainstream media it’s untouchable, like /r/jailbait.

I don’t think anybody is surprised that reddit admins consist of white supremacists and/or paedophiles.

It’s amazing to me that the stuff people post to forums like tumblrinaction are things that actually anget people as much as they do. Like why do people care so much about what some anonymous stranger is saying or going through. I’ll never understand why so many people get their rocks off bullying the posts of young people who obviously just feel alienated.

I’m way more concerned about the fact that healthcare costs are totally out of control and that the cost of housing has risen far faster than the rate of wages.

The overlap between the “it’s just a joke bro its satire dude get a sense of humor” redditors and the ones that go into screeching fits over teenage girls on tumblr telling edgy jokes has always baffled me. I kinda get that the upvote system encourages the strongest emotional reactions, but like jesus if seeing a #killallmen post distresses you this much why do you have a subreddit just for seeking those posts out?

I used to go there, because I was somewhat bothered by the extreme lib side of idpol. Then argued when people got shitty about trans people and so on, that was not obviously a teen fury trying to figure out the world. Then it became downright right-wing hellhole around the time of gamergate… I guess it wasn’t super good even before that either…

Yeah, I was super into them and Cringe Anarchy (what happened to them anyways?) right before I realized I was trans lol. I think I tried everything else first, including being a ayn rand guy for a bit, until I happened on traa and then chapo through memes getting crossposted lol. I have pretty big problems with traa as a sub, but being huge and having relateable memes for young trans kids is admittedly helpful in cracking eggs

Tw for the replies. People are discussing weightloss like suckers.

What about r/fatlogic. It’s a bunch of people with eating disorders being fatphobic to strangers online to cope with it. The circlejerk they form is amazing, always end up mentioning their own weights so you can think they’re skinny.

Edit: and damn, do people not like seeing fatphobia called out? Why downvote when I tell the truth. I’m not making fun of EDs, I have one. Why else would I know how it makes you sound like.

I’ve spent a lot of time in the ED communities on reddit (I also have an ED) and none of those places were ever as bad as fatlogic/fatpeoplehate. even proed had rules against a lot of that shit.

I have the same issue with /cringetopia There are some good stuff but also lots of shitting on alternative cultures.

Same with KiA, and TiA, but I was a tumblr witch for awhile so it was self harm shit like looking at news comments on trans ppl.

Idk I’ve know otherkin in person and they are quite lovely

Tumblrinaction had a brief moment of.making fun if otherkin, when it actually wasn’t super bad even to the people it was making fun of. Kotakuinaction was fucked up from the start

I think you just connected something for me… I browsed /r/TiA way, way early on, when it was mostly about otherkin and in that brief window before it really went to shit. I found my diary from high school and inside I have this huge crisis about whether I’m “really depressed or just lazy.” It was strange to read because I don’t remember how I got so many of those ideas or that it took me so long to realize I very obviously was mentally ill. Now I’m thinking I must have absorbed it from the anti-SJW culture.

While that might have been true from the start, and it certainly became more true over time; is worth noting that otherkin is a real phenomena, and making fun of that was terrible in itself.
Humans do have an innate proprioceptive body map, but I don’t know to what extent that explains otherkin; since in most cases an otherkin is an alter within a dissociative system.

Oh agreed, I just hated that they made fun of all that shit. Like I didn’t care and still don’t care what someone has as an identity. I’ll respect whatever. It doesn’t impact my life at all.
