In a new interview with The Guardian, the ‘Wish You Were Here’ singer shut down any kind of optimistic ideas that he would potentially reunite with Waters. “Absolutely not. I tend to steer clear of people who actively support genocidal and autocratic dictators like Putin and Maduro [president of Venezuela],” he told the outlet.

Gilmour continued: “Nothing would make me share a stage with someone who thinks such treatment of women and the LGBT community is OK. On the other hand, I’d love to be back on stage with [Pink Floyd keyboardist] Rick Wright, who was one of the gentlest and most musically gifted people I’ve ever known.”

Gilmour is so washed. Sure, the guy can sing and play guitar, but it’s so funny he seems to fancy himself a better all around musician, songwriter and activist than Waters. Dudes a lib through and through, he apparently doesn’t even know that Waters has signs up at his shows that say “Fight the Patriarchy” and “Trans Rights”.

    BONUS:

“There are songs from the past that I no longer feel comfortable singing. I love ‘Run Like Hell’. I loved the music I created for it, but all that ‘You’d better run, run, run…’ I now find that all rather, I don’t know… a bit terrifying and violent.”

That’s the point of the song, Gilmour! You worked on the album! lol

The guitarist added: “‘Another Brick In The Wall’ is another one I shan’t be doing. I don’t think I’ve done that with my own band, but I certainly did it in the post-Roger Pink Floyd, against my better judgment. The same with ‘Money’. I won’t be doing that.”

He probably unironically believes the things Money is poking fun at. lol

Saw Waters in Salt Lake City a while ago. I have N E V E R felt the way I did there. It was almost like some revolutionary political gathering.

And to think, after that, that Water was anti trans? Dude had an entire stage made of screens, with images showing support for EVERY SINGLE marginalized person that exists. It was fucking beautiful.

Gilmore really made a fuckin’ fool of himself here, casting away an ally like that.

there was a time where I was younger and was convinced by lib PF fans that Roger Waters was crazy and all the rest of em get it

i know this is a joke of a cliche, but they couldn’t make Animals today - the rest of the band would be too lib to let something like that slide

Gilmour sucks and he always has. His guitar solos are the worst part of the song. His voice sucks, he’s terrible at writing. I’ll always be a little pissed that he essentially took the Pink Floyd name and used it for his solo career. Those last Floyd albums without Waters are unlistenable boomer pop, with no meaning other than “flying is fun”.

Floyd is dead, the only part that is still alive is Waters, Gilmour is an old man dragging the corpse of a band around and saying it’s him.

Oh no! It’s so hard to find other musicians that can replicate David’s contribution to those songs, where as any one can stand in for Roger. trollface

The article prominently featuring multiple ads for a t-shirt he is selling with some Boomer slogan and all the PF members on it is just chefs-kiss

I don’t know of a Gilmour song besides “Learning to Fly” that is actually enjoyable to listen to (though that one is v good, to be fair). It’s pessimistic about musicianship in general to say someone as blegh as him is “medium talent”.
