    Articles that focus on responses by ā€œthe publicā€ on social media shit me. How many responses are we talking? Millions? If not then who fucking cares and why do we need to validate trolls. You know their response to this article would be delight anyway. These serve no purpose other than to make the victims feel bad along with the majority of normal people that empathise. So some arseholes were arseholes, thanks for the news. This isnā€™t journalism and isnā€™t a press release that helps anything.

    That headline confused me, because I thought this was some new, weird misogyny. Just from the headline, it sounds like they were saying a ship crashed but did not sink, and the reason it didnā€™t sink id that the shipā€™s Captain was a woman.

      Thatā€™s what I thought, too. I thought they were accusing her of being a witch or something. It took me a while to figure it out.

    I just looked it up and something like 3% of commercial and military ships on earth are captained by women. It seems a very misogynistic career path, and probably very tough for women to go up in rank
