He won’t sit on a couch next to me or by himself. He might hang out with me on my bed but 80% of the time he’s on the floor.
Is he hot?
Is he sad?
Can I do something to help him?
He’s 2 btw
Update: it was just anxiety, he’s new in my house, not sure what his rules are… he feels much more comfy now ♥️
- Some cats are floor cats - Just like some people are couch people and other people are chair people
- Get him a cardboard box. He’s sad because there are no cardboard boxes. - He has one, he just doesn’t sit in it - Then he is an imposter disguised as a cat sent to infiltrate your life. No real cat can resist a box. - I have two cats. One loves boxes, even when they’re tiny, if it fits a paw, she has to try it. The other one hates them, and he’s always been a grumpy old man with a very strange personality. I’ve never considered him a real cat lol

- Perfectly normal, each cat is different.
- Some cats just like the floor. Not all cats like being on squishy surfaces either. Mine hates the bed whenever we stay somewhere with a western bed, but if I put a food tray I got for a $1 from goodwill next to me you can bet his ass will be there lol.
- I have two cats. Both sleep on sofas as well as the floor. Cats are the divine incarnate. They can do as they please.
- Absolutely normal. Kitty just likes to stay grounded.
- Jackson Galaxy Cat Daddy says some cats are tree cats and others are bush dwellers. So if cat prefers the floor I suggest fancy rugs and cat beds and cat scratchers all on the floor.
- cats have a different idea of comfort than humans do.
- Mine refuses to use a cat tree. I always heard cats like to be high up, but not mine. He likes his bed on the floor, and rarely gets on a chair or couch if I’m not there.
- he’s straight chillin’
- Is it carpet or stone kind of hard floor? Does he sploot a lot? - i’m sorry, but, sploot? - When they lay on their belly with their legs all splayed out.
