    So how close are we to getting low end large capacity SSDs at affordable prices? I mean, are we ever gonna be able to buy 12TB SSDs for our desktops or home NAS for similar prices to mechanical drives??

        The cost per TB of mechanical drives keeps going down too. I doubt high capacity SSDs will ever be cheaper than HDDs.

      I feel they are crazy cheap already, you can find ssds for 50€ the TB.

      Aren’t they not meant for storage too, so HD will always be the preferred solution there (electrons needs to be reactivated in ssds IIRC)?
