It just gave very Reddit API shutdown vibes, which is not something people have very good memories of.

Also most of the energy was dedicated to the creation of !onehundredninetysix@lemmy.blahaj.zone , which was the evidence that the community was ready to restart elsewhere had the mods kept the community locked
